   Have you tried selling it on eBay? You can use PayPal, a program that is also owned by eBay to send and recieve payments. It’s pretty easy to set up. I think PayPal is the simplest and safest way to accept money over the internet.

   I’ve used PayPal to receive payments, which is good, because you can transfer the money into your bank account periodically for no cost and you only lose a small amount of your asking price to fees when accepting money. For a single book selling, it’s just not worth it to set up a full cart system.

   One thing I’ll suggest is to price your e-book at or just below what a mass market of the same genre and length would sell for. That is the current industry standard.

   One caveat, though… DO NOT use PayPal, if your book has ****** content. I can’t tell you how many people have been burned that way, including one publisher that had their pay account frozen for 6 months by PayPal. Their pay account. They weren’t selling ****** content on it. They were using PayPal to pay their authors, since they were scattered all over the world. Just something to keep in mind.

   You would need to either get a merchant account or use something like paypal. (paypal is pretty easy to set up, I’ll assume paypal from here on.)

   To set up a paypal account, you’ll need a regular, standard bank account. (it’s easy, but takes a couple days)

   Once this is done, you can simply invoice people directly and then email them the book once they’ve paid. This is simple, but it’s not ideal in the digital age. (people don’t want to wait through the whole process)

   To use paypal to sell digital content instantly, you would use a process they call IPN.

   In a nutshell, paypal contacts software running on your web site with notifications of payments. Your software confirms everything is as it should be, then provides a means for your customer to download the ebook.

   Alternatively, you could write your own IPN handler and software for processing these events.
